How to play Deepcut Duel
Deepcut Duel rewards the answer other players forget: a rarer correct answer is worth more than an obvious one.
Read the question
Each round of this daily trivia game has five questions, with 25 seconds for each one.
Type your answer
A wrong answer hits solid rock, and you can try again until time runs out. After four letters, matching correct answers appear so you can tap one.
Dig for the rare one
Every correct answer scores and sends your drill deeper. The less familiar it is, the better the treasure. No correct answer when time runs out scores zero.
Six treasures, one rule
Everyday answers still count. The rarer the correct answer, the higher it scores. Five Crowns make the maximum score of 200.
| Treasure | Points | How familiar? |
|---|---|---|
| Copper Coin | 1 | Almost everyone says it |
| Silver Watch | 3 | Very well known |
| Amber | 8 | Known by many |
| Scarab | 15 | Less familiar |
| Star Crystal | 25 | Quite obscure |
| Crown | 40 | The rarest finds |
Frequently asked questions
When does the daily game reset?
A new daily trivia game starts at 00:00 UTC every day. Everyone gets the same five questions for that UTC date.
How do I earn more points?
Name a correct answer that fewer people would think of. Less familiar answers are worth more, from a Copper Coin at 1 point to a Crown at 40, and they take your drill deeper.
Why was my answer not accepted?
Each question uses a complete list from a published source, such as the American Kennel Club breed list. An answer that is not on the list hits solid rock. A wrong answer costs nothing but time, so try another until the clock runs out.
Can I play again?
Yes. After the daily game, dig again with another randomly selected set of five questions.
